Very soon, there’s going to be a new space that will help trail users get even more out of their trip to the Cadillac Pathway.

After a lot of hard work, generous donations, and careful planning, we’re ready to make the long-planned pavilion a reality. We’re really excited to offer our community a place to come together and get more use out of their time here.

The Cadillac Leadership Group really took the reins on fundraising with their Cadillac Leadership Group and Friends Dinner this past spring. The evening saw great prizes and a lot of support for the project, as well as helping to energize our community into making this a reality. We also received help from Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association President Chad Jordan and the whole board. Together, our team of volunteers was able to communicate with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to determine the best placement, size, and design for the Pavilion.

We see the Pavilion as vital in enhancing the experience for nearly everyone who uses the trail. First off, it gives everyone a private, comfortable place to change, which is actually a pretty big deal for anyone who’s hurried to get a ride or a run in before or after work!

As a four-season trail, having a place to relax, meet, and gather is a major plus to skiers and fat bikers, too. Working with NMMBA, we determined that many winter trail users base their trips and plans around having a warming hut or a place to get out of the elements before or after their exercise.

With events like the Bear Claw Epic and hopefully more on the horizon, it would also serve as a place to host registration and other vital elements of events and attract more promoters to host running, cycling, skiing, snowshoeing, or other group activities in the area.

The final plans for the Pavilion have been submitted just this week, and we’ll have the structure completed well before the end of 2018. There is a possibility that this structure is just the beginning! You can still support the Pavilion’s construction costs, as well as add to the on-going maintenance of the building by making a donation of any amount you choose right here.
