June is bringing us some gorgeous weather for getting outside and enjoying the Cadillac Pathway!
There has been a lot going on this winter and spring, and it’s time for a quick update. First off, if you haven’t had time to check out the new Pavillion, you need to see what’s new! This structure provides a real sense of place to start and end your rides, hikes, skis, and runs, plus a place to gather post-ride with potlucks and get-togethers. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
The footing was poured just last week, and it’s ready to make your rides and runs all the better!
We’re only just getting started on more amenities at the trailhead, too. Last week, Michele presented information about the history and the future of the Cadillac Pathway to the Tri-County Bicycle Association in Lansing. The club awarded us a $2,000 grant to bring bike and ski racks, plus a bike repair tower, to the Pathway this spring! We’re working on a few designs that will allow these racks to be converted seasonally. You can expect to see them make their debut in just a few weeks! The bike repair tower will be an especially handy thing to have around. You’ll be able to make quick fixes and ensure your bike is ready to rock before you head out to explore the Pathway!
Finally, we’re slowly working towards the construction of eleven miles of fresh singletrack approved by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Our goal is to keep you updated on things as we get a more accurate timeline of when things will get started. Right now, the best way to help is by donating to the Pathway and joining NMMBA; as a chapter, Cadillac is a part of an entire region that is prepared to mobilize to make this happen!
Congratulations and great job Michele and others; great outdoor recreation asset for Cadillac area
