We love the Pathway. We know just how much it means to the adventurers in our neck of the woods, and that’s why events like National Trails Day are important to celebrate!
This Saturday, June 6, is National Trail Day. The American Hiker’s Society established the event as a way to encourage both experienced hikers and beginners to get outside. Over the years, more trail user groups have jumped on board and used it as a way to get their communities together and spread the joy of trails.
Of course, the events of the past three months have made bringing people together a real challenge. We’re inviting everyone to spend some time on the Cadillac Pathway at any point this Saturday, June 6, and to share their visit on social media with #NationalTrailsDay. By visibly showing how much trails mean, we can influence local, state, and even federal legislators to protect what we have and invest more in the places. Trails play a vital role in the health and mobility of any community, and that’s especially true in northern Michigan.
We’ll also be lighting the fireplace at the Cadillac Pathway Pavilion on Saturday at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome! We do ask that everyone practice social distancing at the Pavilion and in the parking lot. If you do choose to sit and visit, stay six feet from others and consider sitting with people from your household.
We hope families of hikers, bikers, runners, and nature-lovers will take the opportunity to embrace trails and enjoy a great day in the woods!
